A virtual archive turned restoration, discovery and preservation into an intuitive journey from Doha to Osaka.

Created for the National Archives of Qatar, in collaboration with Futad Advertising, this experience transformed archival preservation into an interactive journey for the Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.

Inside the virtual space, Japanese landscapes merge with Qatari architecture. Visitors become guardians of memory, moving from Doha to Osaka while interacting naturally with historic material using only their hands.

Each stage reveals another layer of the archive: learning to use preservation tools, restoring documents, uncovering hidden writing, recovering sounds and digitising fragile records. Timed challenges turn the precision of archival work into accessible, playful gameplay.

We developed the concept, storyboard, mechanics, 3D environments, programming, scripting and music. Light, sound and holographic content transform the room around the visitor, making documentary heritage something to explore, protect and remember.
