Music, poetry, choreography and motion graphics meet in a ten-minute performance where every line moves with the score.

For the 29th edition of Música Viva, composer Fátima Fonte and choreographer Joana Providência created a performance in which sound could also be seen. Unloop developed the visual language for a ten-minute work presented at O’culto da Ajuda in Lisbon.

The composition draws from Camões’ “Descalça vai para a fonte” and Ana Hatherly’s reinterpretation, “Leonorana”. Words, abstract lines and gestures expand beyond the page, tracing the cadence and emotional movement of the score.

Every visual element was synchronised with music, text and choreography. Letterforms appear, fragment and flow while hand-drawn paths turn sound into movement, creating a layer that performs alongside the musicians rather than illustrating them.

The result is a compact encounter between contemporary music and motion design: a piece to listen to, watch and read at once, where technology follows the timing and breath of a live performance.
