A VR edutainment demo sends an alien Archivist across a divided 2050 to recover what humanity left behind.
Odd Space is a virtual-reality edutainment demo developed for HP Reverb. Set in 2050, it places the player inside the suit of an alien Archivist investigating the missing record of humanity across the inner solar system.
The Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars become an open sandbox. Players pilot between worlds, activate speed cruise and search for datalogs that reconstruct the environmental, social and technological choices behind each location.
Every destination exists across two timelines. One reveals a dystopian outcome shaped by climate pressure and resource crises; the other imagines a more hopeful path through cooperation, research and space exploration.
Navigation, mission information and discoveries live inside the spaceship rather than on a detached overlay. This diegetic interface keeps the player inside the fiction, turning a speculative archive into a place to explore, compare and question.
