An experience concept combines augmented guides, panoramic reconstruction and immersive rooms to connect Cairo’s present with Egypt’s many pasts.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo brings together a collection spanning prehistory to the present. Unloop extended that journey through mobile augmented reality and a sequence of immersive spaces.
The experience combines a floor plan, audio points of interest and virtual guides. Realistic 3D characters appear alongside the collection, while real-time augmented reconstructions can be viewed and manipulated on visitors' devices.
Inside the Infinity Room, circular screens, spatial sound, sensors and mirrors dissolve the boundaries of the space. An Augmented Cairo experience connects a 360-degree city panorama with reconstructions of earlier architectural layers.
The journey culminates beneath a pyramid-shaped ceiling animated through video mapping. Throughout the experience, technology acts as a temporal lens, connecting artefact, architecture and city while preserving the central role of the museum’s collection.
